Improved synchronization primitives

- Replaced all `std::sync::Mutex` by `parking_lot::Mutex` and refactored implementation accordingly
- Replaced all `Mutex<T> where T: Copy` by `crossbeam::AtomicCell<T>` and refactored implementation accordingly
